Events planned around final Hoptown-County game

The final Hoptown-County football game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday night at the Stadium of Champions.

The Tigers enter the game 4-4 and 1-1 in Class 6-A, District 1 play. Christian County is 1-7 overall and 0-2 in the district.

The series is tied 29-29 on the field; however, Christian County officially leads the series 30-28 because Hoptown had to forfeit the 1997 game for using an ineligible player.

The Tigers won last year’s game 40-7.

At 7 p.m., Christian County will honor its Colonel seniors and at 7:15 the Hopkinsville and Christian County bands will join together for the playing of the National Anthem.

Christian County will be the home team this year and Colonels fans will enter on the home side. Hopkinsville fans will enter on the visitors’ side. Fans will not be allowed to move from one side to the other.
