KYTC announces upcoming traffic pattern change along U.S. 41-A in Madisonville

As the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continues its U.S. 41-A improvement project in Madisonville, drivers traveling through the work zone are set to see a traffic pattern change this weekend.

The project is taking place on a 3.3-mile stretch of U.S. 41-A between Yorkwood Place and Industrial Drive. The work is set to improve the roadway’s traffic configuration which will include a new and safer intersection at Rose Creek Road.

According to the cabinet, road crews will be rerouting traffic from the temporary diversion by Tucker Schoolhouse Road back to the main road this weekend. However, a new diversion is set to be established east of Tucker Schoolhouse Road toward Madisonville.

The diversion is set to maintain traffic flow and minimize disruptions while road crews work. The $16.7 million highway improvement project is set to be completed in December 2026.
