Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield has issued an open burn ban for all of Todd County, effective immediately and until further notice,
That issuance is due to ongoing dry conditions with no real rain chances in the forecast. during this time, any open outdoor burning is illegal and violators will be subject to fines of up to $500.
No person shall cause or participate in any open burning within the Todd County, which includes debris removal, trash disposal, land clearing or bonfires.
The order will remain in force until the Judge-Executive issues another order revoking it.
Todd County likely won’t be the last county to implement some type of burn ban, as drought conditions look to linger in the entire region.
