A boat explosion at the Kenlake Marina in Marshall County sent a woman to an out-of-state hospital Thursday.
According to the Marshall County Emergency Management Agency, the explosion happened at the fuel dock at the marina after the boat had just fueled up with 200 gallons of fuel. Preliminary investigation showed that the lower level of flooring and some interior items were blown loose in the explosion and a woman on board in the lower-level sustained burns. This cause of the explosion was not immediately known.
She was transported to an out-of-state hospital for treatment of injuries.
Some repairs were done and blowers were used to vent, with no fuel spilled in the water due to the event.
