Spurr to serve as HWEA Chief Operating Officer

The Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority has announced that Melissa Sellers Spurr has been selected to serve as the Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. 

According to a news release, Spurr has been working with HWEA since August of 2013, serving at the Director of Finance and Business, making this a natural step forward. Spurr has played an instrumental role in advancing HWEA’s financial stewardship, operational planning, and strategic growth. As Director of Finance & Business, she has overseen all aspects of financial operations, procurement, business administration, and customer service, while serving as a trusted advisor to the President & CEO and the HWEA Board of Commissioners.

In the COO position, Spurr will manage all departments and coordinate day-to-day operations using her knowledge in regulatory compliance, utility rate modeling, capital planning and project execution to ensure HWEA continues to achieve strategic and long-term goals of producing outstanding drinking water
