A home was struck by lightning during storms that spun up Sunday afternoon in Pembroke.
According to the Pembroke Fire Department, firefighters responded to a residence on Barkers Mill Road that had been struck by lightning around 6 p.m. Sunday. The strike did not catch the home on fire, however, it does cause a significant hole in the roof of the building.
Firefighters secured the hole in the roof and determined there were no fire hazards—no one was injured in the incident.
Pembroke was assisted by the Oak Grove Fire Department at the scene.
