A domestic disturbance that became a situation where the suspect barricaded themselves in a home along with children Friday morning, has ended with an arrest and the victims safe.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, a perimeter was created around a residence in the 600 block of Pet Drive in Clarksville early Friday morning as officers attempted to negotiate with a barricaded individual inside of the residence.
One of the victims, an adult, was able to safety exit the residence, but the male suspect remained inside along with children. After roughly six hours of negotiation, officers were able to successfully convince the suspect to surrender peacefully, and the children were able to exit unharmed.
The suspect—who has not yet been named—was taken into custody and charged with aggravated domestic assault. The roadway has since reopened.
