Hampton pitches Hoppers past Rhythm

The Hopkinsville Hoppers will be coming off one of their biggest wins of the season tonight when they face the Paducah Chiefs at Christian County High School’s Colonel Field.

Zach Hampton allowed only one run over six innings and the Hoppers scored five runs in the sixth inning to rout OVL leading Full Count 9-1 Thursday night in Hendersonville, Tenn.

Hoptown relief pitchers allowed only one hit the final three innings as the Hoppers improved to 12-19 on the season.

Dom Bello had a pair of hits and Jordan Carter slammed a home run to lead the Hoppers at the plate.

Hoptown will return to action tonight at 6:30 p.m. against the Chiefs in the “Shirt off their Back” game. It is a fundraiser with all proceeds to go towards the Rotary Park.
