Twenty high school football teams from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana will invade the Stadium of Champions Friday morning for the opening day of the Best of the West 7-on-7 Passing Tournament.
In addition to Hopkinsville and Christian County, area teams in the tournament include Fort Campbell and Trigg County.
There are five pools with four teams each that will play a round-robin format on Friday. The tournament portion of the event will be on Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville’s pool includes Franklin County, Clarksville Northeast, and Fort Campbell.
Christian County will play in a pool with defending Best of the West champion Macon County (Tenn.), Pearl Cohn out of Nashville, and Madisonville-North Hopkins.
Other teams in the tournament include defending Class 3-A state champion Paducah Tilghman, Gibson Southern (Ind.), Union County, Kenwood, Clarksville, Logan County, McCracken County, Warren Central, Hart County, Webster County, and Calloway County.
Games will begin at 9 a.m. Friday and wrap up around 1 p.m.
