Election Day is underway in Kentucky, and the polls remain open until 6 p.m., so if you’re still in line at that time, you will be allowed to vote.
Polls opened bright and early and things continued smoothly into the afternoon Christian County, with County Clerk Melinda Humphries saying that people are moving through lines quickly and there’s been no issues that she’s aware of.
On the ballot are all the state constitutional offices, including Secretary of State, State Treasurer, State Auditor, Attorney General and Agriculture Commissioner, and at the top of list is who will be the next Governor of Kentucky. There are also a couple of local elections on the ballot—Commonwealth Attorney and Christian County School Board in District 4, both of which are special elections to determine who will fill unexpired terms in those seats.
In an afternoon update, the Christian County Clerk’s Office stated it will not release partial results throughout the evening. Humphries says once all votes have been tallied, including write-ins, they will post the cumulative results from all voting machines online at christiancountyky.gov.Â
Statewide election results can be viewed on the Kentucky Secretary of State website.
