CCPS collecting gift cards to benefit family of sixth grader battling cancer

The Christian County Public School System is putting out the call for gift cards, to help the family of sixth grader Zachary Boyd, who is fighting against a rare bone cancer.

For nearly two years, Boyd has been fighting Osteosarcoma—he has undergone numerous surgeries, ten different chemotherapy treatments, too many nights in the hospital and more, but through the course of treatment, the cancer only continued to spread.  In August, it was learned that the cancer and metastasized, with doctors saying Boyd only has a few months to live.

Christian County Public Schools will begin collecting gift cards to be given to Boyd’s family to help support them and ease the burden they are facing. Anyone who would like to donate a gift card to cause can drop them off at the Central Office at 200 Glass Avenue in Hopkinsville.

Cards will be collected throughout the month of November—cash or checks can not be accepted, and the gift cards will be delivered to Boyd’s family.
