Miller leads Blazers to 3rd in Mayfield invite; Lady Blazers take 6th

Logan Miller put on an impressive showing Saturday for University Heights Academy at the Fast Times at Mayfield Invitational.

Miller took first place in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. He earned a bronze medal in the Long Jump with a leap of 19-feet, 6-inches.

The Blazers’ Cole Glover took home first place in the 3,200-meter run and fourth in the 1,600-meter run. The Blazers’ 800-meter relay team earned a gold medal finish.

Tobias Duncan took second place and Zech Davis was fifth in the 800-meter run and Ryan Luckey earned a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash and fifth in the 100-meter dash.

Jude Finch took home a silver medal in the 3,200-meter run.

UHA took third place in the meet behind Christian County and Calloway County.

Other Blazers earning top-10 finishes on the day included Clayton Lester (3rd in the high jump and 6th in the 100-meter dash), Davis (9th in the 400-meter dash), Graham Conrad (5th in the 1,600-meter run), Finch (9th in the 1,600-meter run), and Garrett Bowling (10th in the 3,200-meter run).

For the Lady Blazers, Emma Dill continued her successful season by taking second place in the 300-meter hurdles. Ajae Oatts finished third in the 200-mter dash.

Other top-10 finishes for the UHA girls included Palin Hampton (5th in the 400-meter dash, 7th in the 200-meter dash, and 6th in the long jump), Dill (5th in the 100-meter hurdles), Oatts (6th in the 100-meter dash), and Aliviah Acree (8th in the 400-meter dash).

The Lady Blazers took took sixth place as a team. Calloway County won the meet, followed by Ballard Memorial, and Madisonville-North Hopkins.
