Blazers rally in 7th to beat Webster County

University Heights Academy scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning and then held off host Webster County in the bottom of the frame to take an 8-7 high school baseball win on Tuesday.

Cadence Gibson singled home Courtland Gibson for a 7-6 lead and then Cadence Gibson provided the game-winning run as he raced home on a throwing error for an 8-6 advantage.

The Trojans added one run in the bottom of the seventh but Aiden Aldstadt was caught trying to steal home to end the game.

Thomas Hallmark picked up the pitching win in relief and Josh Pace picked up the save for the Blazers, who improved to 10-5 on the season.

Jaiden Miles went 3-for-3 and Aiden Jones had a pair of singles for UHA. Ryan Luckey added a double.

The Blazers are scheduled to play host to Henderson County on Thursday.
