UHA track team finishes strong at Paducah invite

University Heights Academy’s track team recorded three top-three finishes and 12 personal records Friday night at the Paducah Tilghman Invitational, which ended early Saturday morning.

For the Blazers, Griffin McCoy took first in the 200-meter dash and fourth in the 100-meter dash.

Logan Miller picked up a second-place finish in the 110-hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, scoring personal best times in each race.

Clayton Lester finished fifth in the high jump.

Ronan Croney-Sallie also had a personal best time in the 400-meter dash and Zech Davis had a personal record in the 800-meter run.

The boys’ 200-meter relay team of McCoy, Harlow Hampton, Miller, and Lester took second place and the boys’ 800-meter relay team of Davis, Croney-Sallie, Garrett, and Jude Finch took fifth place.

Results for the boys’ 1,600-meter run and 400-meter runs were still being finalized.

Scores had not been finalized this morning, but as of Sunday night, the Blazers are in eighth place out of more than 16 teams with 35 points.

Meanwhile, the Lady Blazers also posted a good day with Kendall Hancock running second in the 400-meter dash and fifth in the 200-meter dash.

Harper Bolinger was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a personal record time.

AJae Oatts took third place in the 200-mter dash and fifth in the 100-meter dash.

Emma Dill was third in the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.

Palin Hampton finished with a personal record and seventh-place finish in the long jump. She also was 10th in the 100-meter dash with a personal record.

Amoree Owen finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a personal best time.

Rhyss Sallie also recorded a personal best in the long jump.

The Lady Blazers’ 200-meter relay team, which is ranked No. 5 in Class 1-A and consists of Oatts, Dill, Hampton, and Hancock, took third place.

The girls’ were in fifth place with 45 points entering Monday morning.

Results for the girls’ 100-meter hurdles were still being finalized Monday morning.
