A man was killed in a crash on Cox Mill Road in Christian County Saturday afternoon.
According to Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Payton Rogers, first responders were called to the 5500 block of Cox Mill for reports that a man had become pinned between a vehicle and a utility pole. CPR began immediately upon arrival and the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he would later be pronounced deceased.
The victim has been identified by Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel as 74-year-old Henry Cathey.
Preliminary investigation determined that while Cathey was attempting to get into a vehicle, it went into gear and rolled forward, pinning him between the truck and the pole.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
