A Christian County Grand Jury returned indictments for robbery, first-degree attempted assault against an officer and more Friday.
Indicted for first-degree attempted assault of a police officer, fleeing evading police, two counts of first-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and numerous traffic violations is 26-year-old Earl Cook of Cadiz. He is accused of knowingly or wantonly disobeying directions from law enforcement and leading officers on a pursuit, causing intentional damage to a deputy’s cruiser and allegedly created a grave risk of death to Deputy Stallons by use of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.
Indicted for first-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence is 56-year-old Barbara Joe Clark of Hopkinsville. She is alleged to have entered the Food Giant on August 25 and threatened to stab two employees with a pair of scissors when they tried to stop her from leaving the store with stolen items. She reportedly filled a tote bag with meat.
The employees confronted her and took the tote bag from her, and she fled the store to a waiting vehicle. Investigation determined that Clark had allegedly stolen meat from Food Lion earlier in the day, fleeing that location in the same outfit and the same vehicle.
Indicted on five counts of third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and felony theft by unlawful taking is 28-year-old Tyler Brinkerhoff of Hopkinsville, who is accused of entering the old Lacy Elementary School building multiple times and stealing numerous items from inside.
