MSU, CCPS partnering to provide more dual credit options

Murray State University and Christian County Public Schools are partnering together to provide additional opportunities for dual credit for student intending to attend a four-year university.

According to a news release, the MSU Racer Academy—to be located at the MSU Hopkinsville Regional Campus—will have dual credit courses that are usually offered to college freshmen.  Students will have access to those courses starting in August of this year. The dual credit courses offered to students at MSU qualify for the dual credit tuition rate of $95 a credit hour and are eligible for the state-provided Dual Credit Scholarship.

The partnership builds on dual credit coursework already implemented in CCPS for Agriculture and Teaching and Learning.

Shannon Slate is the Director of the MSU Hopkinsville Campus and says, “The launch of Racer Academy in partnership with Christian County Public Schools marks an exciting milestone for our institutions coming together as a shared commitment to student success. This dual credit opportunity will empower high school students to jumpstart their college education, saving time and money while gaining a valuable Murray State experience at the Hopkinsville campus. We are thrilled to collaborate with CCPS to open new doors for students and strengthen our community’s educational foundation.”
