Two Daviess Co. residents injured in I-169 crash

Two Daviess County residents were injured in a crash in I-169 Monday morning.

According to the report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle operated by 34-year-old Kody Render of Calhoun, KY was traveling south on I-169 near the 27-mile-marker behind a semi-truck, when he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.

The front of his vehicle struck the back of the tractor-trailer, sending the vehicle off the road, across the center median and into the northbound lanes before coming to a stop. The semi was not damaged.

Render and a passenger in his vehicle, 25-year-old Elijah Knight of Calhoun, were transported to Baptist Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries.  The driver of the semi was not injured.
