Heritage Christian Academy’s Jason Leek scored a career-high 55 points and powered the Warriors to an 82-73 win over host Trigg County Tuesday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.
Leek, who leads the state in scoring, had 20 points in the first half and the Warriors took a 41-31 halftime lead. Jacob Morgan also had a big second quarter with a pair of three-pointers on the way to eight of his 13 points on the night.
The Warriors outscored the Wildcats 21-16 in the third quarter with Leek adding 17 points in the period. The senior guard added 18 more in the final period.
It’s the fourth time this season that Leek has scored 50 or more points in a game.
HCA improved to 6-14 on the season and will play Saturday at Dawson Springs. Trigg County slipped to 8-11 on the season.
Davaree Gude had 30 points to lead the Wildcats and Caleb Fogle added 14.
