Purples leave University Heights bruised

Bowling Green placed four players in double figures and overcame a slow start to defeat host University Heights Academy 109-65 Tuesday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.

The Blazers (4-11) led 22-19 after one quarter, led by Tylin George.

However, the Purples (16-4) found their offense in the second quarter, outscoring UHA 32-14 to take a 51-36 halftime lead. Bowling Green then outscored the hosts 57-29 in the second half to take the win.

George led UHA with 30 points. Jaiden Miles added 12.

Bowling Green was led by Jace Wardlow’s 28 points. Braylon Banks had 20 and Kaydn Carpenter added 19. Luke Edlett had 13.

UHA returns to action Friday night in a District 8 game against Christian County at 6 p.m. The F&M Bank Pregame Show will air at 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
