HHS gets balanced scoring in win over Logan

The Hopkinsville Tigers tuned up for their rematch with Christian County on Friday by defeating visiting Logan County 70-62 Monday night in Tiger Gym.

Hoptown used a balanced scoring attack to jump out to a 33-26 halftime advantage. Jonathan Hart scored eight of his 17 points in the first half and Layton Giltner had seven in the first half for the Tigers, who improved to 7-12 on the season.

Logan County (7-8) drew within 51-46 in the third quarter, but led by the play of James Bradley Jr. and DeAvery Ramey, the Tigers were able to pull away and secure the victory.

Hart hit four 3-pointers on the night and led Hoptown in scoring with 17 points. Giltner added 13 and Ramey and Bradley each had 12.

Samson Hightower, a 6-foot-6 senior, led the Cougars with 12 points.

The Tigers are back in action Friday night against Christian County in a girls’/boys’ doubleheader that begins at 6 p.m. The Tigers’ broadcast begins at 5:45 p.m. on Newsradio 99.3 FM and 1230 AM WHOP. The Colonels’ broadcast begins at 5:45 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
