A Christian County Grand Jury issued indictments for murder, rape and fleeing or evading police on Friday.
Twenty-eight-year-old Tavarious Mathews of Hopkinsville was indicted for murder, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon after reportedly being connected to a fatal shooting that occurred on November 10.
According to a report from Hopkinsville Police, Mathews is suspected of fatally shooting 27-year-old Jacorey Majors in the area of East First Street and North Virginia Street.
Forty-six-year-old Carlos Crenshaw was indicted for three counts of first-degree rape, five counts of first-degree sodomy, kidnapping and theft by extortion after he reportedly sexually assaulted and restrained a victim before stealing over $2,000 from them on October 12.
Thirty-seven-year-old James Johnson of Hopkinsville was indicted on 18 charges after he reportedly rammed into a police cruiser and fled from law enforcement on November 20. Johnson was charged with first-and-second-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and other lesser charges.
Thirty-eight-year-old Daniel Oliver of Hopkinsville was indicted for multiple charges after he reportedly led law enforcement on a pursuit on October 11. Oliver was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, disregarding a traffic control device, reckless driving and other lesser charges.
Thirty-five-year-old Christopher Cobb of Hopkinsville was indicted for assault-related charges after he reportedly strangled and abused a child on November 1. Cobb was charged with first-degree strangulation, first-degree criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12 and fourth-degree assault.
Forty-two-year-old Jennifer Lancaster of Hopkinsville was indicted for theft by unlawful taking after reportedly stealing $79,984 between May and June.
