Sen. Paul to serve as chair of Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee

United States Senator Rand Paul has been chosen to chair the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

In a news release, Dr. Paul says he’s honored to have the opportunity to serve as the 15th Chairman of the committee in the modern era, and chose this committee over another because he believes that Congress must continue its constitutional role.

He says, “This Committee’s mission of oversight and investigations is critical to Congress reasserting itself. I look forward to continuing the storied history of this Committee’s leadership in consequential bipartisan oversight and investigations.”
