Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary unemployment rate rose slightly in November when compared to the prior year.
That’s according to the Kentucky Center of Statistics with the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet, with the report showing that Kentucky November 2024 unemployment rate was 5.1 percent—up only .1 percent compared to October and up .8 percentage points from one year ago.
Labor force statistics, including the unemployment rate, are based upon estimates from the Current Population Survey of households. The survey is designed to measure trends in the number of people working and includes jobs in agriculture and individuals who are self-employed.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for November 2024 was 4.2 percent, which was up 0.1 percentage points from October 2024, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
