Christian Co. Judge Executive talks infrastructure projects, hopes for next year

With the final month of 2024 well underway, local governments are already turning their thoughts towards the new year and what they would like to see happen in 2025.

That includes Christian County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam, who appeared on WHOP recently and says they have plenty of things they would like to see happen, but with a focus on the southern half of the county for now. That includes water and other infrastructure projects for the Oak Grove area, due to Buc-ee’s and other big projects settling into that area, bringing tremendous growth.

Judge Gilliam says even with the money present for road projects, those things still take time, and they’re hopeful things will really progress at the turn of the year.

He says they really want to see projects completed for the Pembroke area, including road widenings along KY 115, to make that area safer for residents.

Judge Gilliam says there’s plenty more they’ll be looking to see happen in 2025, but for now they’re pleased with the progress on those big projects, and they’ll be working with state legislators to hopefully secure more funding towards those areas.
