Hopkinsville City Council received updates on Rotary Park at Pardue Lane and approved a grant agreement with Kitchen Food Company Limited at their special called meeting on Tuesday.
Hopkinsville Mayor J.R. Knight says representatives from Miracle Playground Equipment Company will present their blueprints for the park’s playground at their meeting on December 3. Then on December 5, they will start taking bids for construction of the park.
The council approved a municipal order transferring remaining FEMA grant funds totaling around $ 436,000 to be used for the construction of Rotary Park. Knight says they are doing the right thing by putting the money to good use.
Before the council voted on the final municipal order, they went into a closed session to discuss it. The order allows the city to sign an agreement granting Kitchen Food Company $4.5 million to develop a manufacturing facility set to be located at 1405 Frank Yost Lane in Hopkinsville.
Kitchen Food Company is an Australian organization that was founded over 20 years ago. According to the company’s website, its mission is to offer nutritious and accessible ready meals that make life easier.
After coming back from the closed session, the grant agreement was approved, but three council members voted against the motion.
