Complicity to murder suspect to receive new attorney

Complicity to murder suspect Dekorian Daniel will soon have new representation, as his attorney withdrew from the case Wednesday in Christian Circuit Court.

Daniel—who is charged with complicity to murder in connection with the 2021 fatal shooting death of Adrian Acree—was being represented by defense attorney Olivia Adams, but Wednesday morning, she entered a motion to withdraw from the case, which was granted by Judge John Atkins.

A pretrial conference was set for December 18, with Judge Atkins telling Daniel he can speak with an attorney before then or be appointed a public defender.

Daniel is the only co-defendant that remains unresolved in this case. Cortez Hairston Jr. was convicted of first-degree murder at trial recently and sentenced to 30 years in prison, while co-defendant Jaila Sherrod has pled guilty to facilitation of murder and tampering with physical evidence to her role.
