Madisonville man arrested for robbery, drug trafficking

A Madisonville man is under arrest following investigation into an armed robbery Monday afternoon at the Cross Creek Apartments in Madisonville. 

According to the Madisonville Police Department, officers responded to the Cross Creek Apartments on Island Ford Road for reports that a victim had been assaulted and robbed. Investigation determined that 22-year-old Quortez Greenwood of Madisonville had allegedly assaulted the victim, brandished a firearm, and then took money from the victim before fleeing the scene. 

Greenwood was later located at a neighborhood apartment complex, where he was taken into custody without incident.  A search of the apartment revealed a bag that allegedly contained a handgun, ammunition, suspected fentanyl-laced pills, morphine tablets, methamphetamine, marijuana, a large sum of U.S. currency and several items of drug paraphernalia.

After being medically cleared at Batist Health Deaconess, Greenwood was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.  He is charged with first-degree robbery, trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in meth, trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana, use of restricted ammunition during commission of a felony, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
