State police investigate game warden recruit death in Barren County

Kentucky State Police were dispatched to Barren County to investigate the death of 24-year-old William Bailey of Richmond following a reported medical emergency on Friday.

According to a report, state police were called to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ Game Warden Academy in Barren County to investigate Bailey’s death that occurred during a training exercise.

Academy officers at the scene reportedly rendered first aid before Bailey was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The investigation is ongoing.
