Two hurt in Madisonville collision

Two people were hurt in a crash in Madisonville last Friday.

According to the Madisonville Police Department, the crash happened in the area of South Main Street and McCoy Avenue when a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Alexa Murphy of Central City attempted to cross South Main and traveled in the path of a vehicle operated by 50-year-old Wayne Van Riper of Manitou.

The two collided, forcing Murphy’s vehicle to spin before coming to stop in the northbound lane.

Murphy and a passenger, 28-year-old Katilyn Potts of Madisonville—along with a one-year-old child—were taken to Baptist Health Hospital for treatment of possible injuries.
