A Madisonville woman was killed in a single-vehicle collision on Ilsley Road Thursday evening.
According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle operated by 18-year-old Patience Satterfield of Dawson Springs went off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree in the area of Ilsley Road and St. Charles Road. Satterfield was found outside of the vehicle when first responders arrived, and she was flown by helicopter to the hospital for treatment of significant injuries.
A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Elizabeth Townsell of Madisonville, was killed during the collision, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office.
The collision is still under investigation. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by St. Charles Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service.
