On August 22, Casey Jones Distillery announced its first-ever Mash Maker’s Experience as an exclusive bourbon trail tour stop in Hopkinsville.

This weekend on August 31, the Mash Maker’s Experience will commence at Casey Jones Distillery to offer everyone a unique hands-on experience that will involve attendees far beyond the typical distiller’s tour and kicks off Bourbon Heritage Month in September.

Available only at Casey Jones, this guided tour showcases the importance of grain to American whiskey production. Casey Jones welcomes everyone in for a fun day of sightseeing accompanied with creating a custom batch of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Each handcrafted batch will be first offered in a very limited run as new make distillate before being stored in premium Kelvin Cooperage barrels. After aging, the spirits will be bottled and sold as part of Casey Jones Distillery’s portfolio.

Master Distiller Arlon Jones said, “Mash bills are the cornerstone of any great whiskey and understanding that the grains are the secret sauce is something Master Distillers have held close to the vest since bourbon became America’s Native spirit.”

The tours will be approximately 45 minutes and are affordably priced at $10 per guest, with 20 guests per group. The Mash Maker’s Experience will be offered daily after August 31, where participants can contribute to custom batches of mash by choosing and griding the grains that will eventually become bourbon.
