Christian Fiscal approves obligation bonds for industrial development

Christian Fiscal Court approved an ordinance that will issue general obligation bonds to help incentivize an industrial development in the county at Tuesday’s meeting.

This is the second-reading of that ordinance that approves the Kentucky Association of County’s general obligation bond in in the amount of $1.2 million to cover incentives for a large industrial development, as read by County Attorney Lincoln Foster.

Exactly what that development will be was not discussed, but a public hearing concerning the development was held before the usual fiscal court meeting was held Tuesday morning, but no one from the public spoke.

Magistrate Phillip Peterson gave an update on the recent Fire Fighters Assistance Grants that were awarded to the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department and Square Deal Volunteer Fire Department recently, saying those grants will benefit not just their districts, but the county as a whole.

Christian County Regional Animal Shelter Director Melissa Goff gave the monthly shelter report at Tuesday’s meeting, saying that in the month of July, the shelter took in 513 animals and approximately 230 found new homes or went to rescue agencies.

In other action, magistrates approved an agreement between Christian County Government and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for rural and municipal road aid, and declared surplus items at the Animal Shelter and the Property Valuation Office.
