Man charged with assault of an officer following disturbance

A man from Slaughters has been charged with assaulting a police officer after they responded to reports of a disturbance on West 13th Street.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to a residence in the 300 West 13th for reports of a couple having a fight. Upon arrival, contact was made with 27-year-old Jordan Craig of Slaughters, who allegedly began to act aggressively with officers while they were questioning him and refused to give an ID. 

When officers went to restrain him, Craig allegedly began to struggle and kicked officers until he was successfully detained. 

Craig is charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, menacing and resisting arrest.
