Despite some stormy weather, Fort Campbell showed up and showed out for their annual Fourth of July Fest. Attendees packed the Division Parade Field and grooved along with the band Echosmith, before jamming out to some hip-hop classics with rapper Ludacris.
The festival kicked off with carnival rides and a Salute to the Union. Chris Leidy from Fort Campbell’s Child and Youth Services says he was happy to see the great turnout and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Marketing Director, Regina Maloney says she was glad that the bad weather rolled out and the folks rolled back in.
Before the concert began, Command Sergeant Major Chad Stackpole hyped up the audience telling them to have fun and enjoy the musical guests.
Echosmith, who is composed of siblings Sydney, Noah and Graham Sierota, took the stage and played a collection of their songs including “Cool Kids” and “Bright.” Sydney Sierota described performing for Fort Campbell as the best way to spend the Fourth of July and says this is not their first time performing for the troops.
Following Echosmith’s performance, Ludacris took to the stage and got the crowd to their feet. After performing some of his hits such as “Stand Up” and “Area Codes,” the festival concluded with a firework show.
