Three Hopkinsville High School football players signed national letters-of-intent play collegiately at Lindsey Wilson College during a ceremony Wednesday afternoon at Tiger Gym in front of teammates and other well-wishers.
Treston Kay will join teammates Artavius Moses and Amoni Johnson at Lindsey Wilson next season.
Hopkinsville High School Football Coach Dustin Lopez said all three young men will represent the school and the community well at Lindsey Wilson.
Kay played wide receiver primarily for the Tigers last year, recording a team-leading 539 yard and eight touchdowns. He also ran for 244 yards and three scores. In addition, Kay also played defensive back for the Tigers.
He said he is excited about his opportunity to further his education while playing football with his friends.
Moses had 66 total tackles including seven for loss from his linebacker spot.
He said he could barely contain his excitement when he heard that Lindsey Wilson wanted to sign him.
Johnson was injured early in the 2024 season, but came back to record 19 tackles in only five games.
He said the signing was the reward for continuing to work hard and believing he could play college football.
Lopez said Wednesday’s signing in front of the team gives his team inspiration to work hard and motivation to get the same opportunity for themselves.
